Madison High School presents Arsenic and Old Lace, a play that hits on quirk and humour.  A story about two old ladies who kill “lonely, miserable men” as acts of kindness within the midst of family chaos keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting for more. Abigail and and Martha Brewster played by Suzette Oleson and Maggie Salko made Madison High School proud to call these actors Dodgers. The charming yet frustrated character of Mortimer Brewster was played by the limitless Matt Delevan who exerted passionate yet comical delivery into his character.  Other stellar performances were by Sara Massey, Jack Davidson and Brendan Geier who executed their character perfectly. Sara Massey who added class and sass whilst playing Elaine Harper was fantastic. Jack Davidson and Brendan Geier was the touch of horror and comic relief that was much enjoyed and appreciated by the audience as well. What makes Madison High School’s productions special is the the students ability to fully execute their character and to be able to gladly dedicate themselves to the commitment the show demands. It’s also its ability to make the student audience forget the stresses of schoolwork and enjoy themselves as they fully invest their attention into the play. In saying this, amazing job to the cast and crew of Arsenic and Old Lace! Madison High School’s productions are definitely worth seeing and for those who missed seeing it, make sure to catch it next year!
