Tasty Edible Cookie Dough

Tasty Pizza Bombs

The first recipe we tried was the pizza bombs. These didn’t seem too hard at first, but Tasty definitely made it easier than it looked. The video called for biscuit dough, marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, italian seasoning, and butter. First you take a section of biscuit dough and you stretch it out until it’s completely flat. Then put a teaspoon of marinara sauce in the center of the dough topped with a slice of pepperoni. The hard part came when having to roll up the dough. The biscuit dough was way too thin to hold all of the ingredients inside and definitely not big enough. The pizza balls kept unrolling by themselves which forced us to stick 4 toothpicks in each one. After attempting to roll the dough, we then had to coat it in a buttery garlic mix which also wasn’t very successful. We took the pizza bombs out of the oven and could barely taste the garlic or any of the seasoning we had coated them in. All in all, I would say this recipe was a fail. If you’re planning to make any sort of pizza dish I would say use actual pizza dough. The Tasty pizza bombs clearly tasted like biscuits and lacked the savory sensation of an actual pizza. For the amount of effort you have to put into these, I wouldn’t expect anything better from this recipe.

The second recipe we tried was the edible cookie dough. This recipe called for flour, brown sugar, salt, vanilla, butter, milk, and chocolate chips. To get rid of all the contamination that may be in the flour, the recipe advised its audience to cook the flour in the oven for 5 minutes at a temperature of 375 degrees. Then take all of the flour out of the oven, pour in dry and wet ingredients and mix until combined. After adding in all of the ingredients and the chocolate chips, we had to leave the dough in the fridge for around an hour because the mixture was very runny and tasted way too sweet. After an hour in the fridge, the dough had hardened and it officially tasted like cookie dough. This recipe took a lot longer to make than the pizza bombs surprisingly, but it was definitely worth it.
If you’re planning to make a recipe from a Tasty video, keep in mind that some recipes might not live up to their expectations. However, I found that the more effort you put into a recipe, the better it tasted. I encourage readers to try a video, even if they don’t turn out well, they’re fun to make and are definitely worth a try, after all, you never know until you try.
